Pineapple is one of Vietnam’s signature tropical fruits, with popular varieties including Queen (Honey pineapple), Cayenne (Giant pineapple), and MD2. The main growing regions are Tien Giang, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An. Thanks to the tropical humid climate, abundant rainfall, and fertile soils – especially light acid sulfate soils and alluvial soils along rivers – Vietnamese pineapples achieve high yields, possess a rich sweetness, and offer a distinctive aroma, making them ideal for both fresh consumption and processing for export markets.
