Export Overview
Vietnam is home to a diverse range of mango varieties, with Cat Chu mango, Australian mango, and Elephant mango being the three most important export varieties.
Mango has long been one of Vietnam’s major fruit exports, with export volumes increasing steadily over the past decade. Vietnamese mangoes are exported fresh and processed to more than 40 countries and territories, including key markets such as China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, the US, and the Middle East.
Over the past three years, Vietnam’s mango export value has shown fluctuations. In 2021, the total export value reached around USD 650 million. In 2022, due to impacts of the global economic slowdown and strict import controls, export value slightly declined to approximately USD 620 million. However, in 2023, exports rebounded to about USD 670 million, driven by strong demand from China, Japan, and South Korea, along with improvements in post-harvest processing and GlobalGAP-certified cultivation areas. Vietnamese mangoes are increasingly recognized for their quality, traceability, and competitive prices, reinforcing Vietnam’s position as a leading mango exporter in Asia.
